Callum Mackenzie

Co Founder & Director, Programs

Callum Mackenzie is the Co-founder and Director of Yunus Thailand and a Managing Partner of Grameen Options. He also sits on the Steering Committee for the Yunus Professional Masters in Social Business & Entrepreneurship and teaches on the Yunus Practicum. 

Callum has a diverse range of experience from working in the social business and international development sector in +10 countries around the world with organizations such as the World Bank, USAID, ActionAid, the European Institute for Cooperation and Development, and the UK Government. 

Callum holds a Masters Degree in International Development from Sciences Po Paris and a Bachelors with Honours from the Queen’s University Belfast in Conflict Studies.

Dr. Pipat Yodprudtikan

Co-Founder & Chair, Business Strategy

Pipat Yodprudtikan is the chairman of Thaipat Institute, a public-interest organization established in 1999 with its aim mainly in promoting corporate sustainability and responsibility in the private sector. He leads the operation since it was founded and has delivered more than 300 engagements in research, training, and consulting with many of the multinational corporations, state enterprises, and major listed companies in Thailand.
Pipat founded the Thai CSR Network in 2005 as a platform of CSR practices for businesses and serves as a hub of CSR knowledge sharing among Thai companies and co-founded the Thailand Social Business Initiative (TSBI) in 2016 to promote the concept of social business pioneered by Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus in Thailand.

Pipat has B.Eng. from Kasetsart University, M.Sc. from Chulalongkorn University, and Ph.D. from Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University, Thailand. He is also a frequent lecturer at several universities and speaker at major public forums on many occasions.

Dr Soontorn Koonchaimang

Co Founder & Chair, Academics and Research

Soontorn is currently the deputy Dean for Corporate Communications and Corporate Affairs at Puey Ungphakorn School of Development Studies, Thammasat University, and co-founder of Thailand Social Business Initative (TSBI). He was previously the Director of the Right-Livelihood Foundation and Director of the Social Enterprise Study and Development Center at Rangsit University.

Dr. Soontorn has over 20 years’ experience working in Corporate Social Responsibility, and is Founder and Chairman of Image Plus Communications. Under his management, his firm has provided CSR consultancy to Thailand’s leading corporations and has advised the Royal Thai Government Ministries and Departments on an inclusive national development process.

Pajaree Koonchaimang

Co Founder & Chair, Business Development

Pajaree Koonchaimang (Bam) is Managing Director at Expert Aspect International and is a Shared Value Affiliate for Prof. Michael Porter in Thailand. Pajaree provides advisory services to Thailand’s leading corporations to create sustainability strategies delivering shared value, social impact.

Pajaree believes in empowering young people through entrepreneurship.  She co-founded the Thailand Social Business Initiative in partnership with Yunus Center AIT and Thaipat Foundation, which works to build wider understanding among Thai youth about Professor Muhammad Yunus’ vision of Social Business as a vehicle for economic empowerment and sustainable development.

With a firm belief in the enormous potential of public private partnerships, Pajaree engages with key stakeholders to co-create effective ways to enhance social responsibility of the business ecosystem.

Dr Faiz Shah

Co Founder & President

Faiz Shah currently heads Development Management at the Asian Institute of Technology, Bangkok, and is Director of the Yunus Centre at AIT. He teaches on the CSR masters program, coordinates the AITE Healthcare Resources Group, co-directs the Energy Distribution Services Management & Technology program, and is visiting professor at the College of Innovation at Thammasat University, Bangkok.

In a 30-year change management and capacity-building career in a number of countries, Dr. Shah has advised government and UN agencies, worked with major corporations, groomed over 3,000 grassroots officials, overseen over 300 community-level development projects in diverse communities from the Himalayan villages to the Thar desert. Between 1995 and 2001 he led Saga, at the time the world’s largest soccer-ball company, in pioneering a widely recognized socially responsible business model.

Bordin Rassameethes

Board Member

Bordin Rassameethes  is currently the Director of Yunus Social Business Center at Kasetsart University and a former Dean of Faculty of Business Administration and former Vice President of Kasetsart University.

He received his Ph.D. in Management of Technology from Vanderbilt University in the United States. He holds a MS degree in Management from North Carolina State University, USA and BS in Computer Science from University of Miami, USA.

He has been working in the field of technology management, which includes electronic commerce, information technology, rural informatics, and supply chain management.

Prof. Muhammad Yunus

Chairman

Nobel Laureate Professor Muhammad Yunus is the father of both social business and microcredit, the founder of Grameen Bank and more than 50 other companies in Bangladesh. For his constant innovation and enterprise, Fortune Magazine named Professor Yunus “one of the greatest entrepreneurs of our time” in March 2012.

In 2006, Professor Yunus and Grameen Bank were jointly awarded the Nobel Peace Prize. He has received 63 honorary degrees from universities across 24 countries, and has received 136 awards from 33 countries, including state honours from 10 countries. He is one of only seven individuals to have received the Nobel Peace Prize, the United States Presidential Medal of Freedom and the United States Congressional Gold Medal.

Professor Yunus has long been a friend of Thailand. Grameen Bank was the inspiration for the Village Development Fund, present in 88,000 locations in Thailand, and micro-finance has played an important role in the development of Thailand to a middle-income country. Professor Yunus has advised the Royal Thai Government Cabinet and the Thai business community on how Social Business can drive inclusive growth and sustainable development.

Pathit Ongvasith

Manager, Programs

Pathit Ongvasith leads programs at Yunus Thailand, is a Yunus & Youth Global Ambassador, and Partner at Grameen Options. He has led numerous initiatives at YT including a community-based incubator for agri-entrepreneurs, social business startup support programs, and corporate social business development. Pathit also has experience working with private sector partners in the food and beverage, agriculture, energy and retail sectors.

He was previously a Climate Change and Disaster Risk Management Consultant at the World Bank, researcher at the Thailand Development Research Institute specialized in innovation policy, FDI, and supply chains, and contributor to the Paris-based Human Development Research Initiative, focused on combatting global inequalities.

Pathit completed his Master’s Degree in International Development at Sciences Po Paris and holds Bachelor’s Degrees in Economics from Sciences Po Paris and Columbia University, New York.

Jutiwat Sangiamsakdikorn

Co Founder & Chair, Business Partnership

Jutiwat is Vice President for Government Relations at Miracle Star Capital Company, an infrastructural development project-based investment firm focused on Fiber Optic Network Installation and Strategic Road construction in Thailand and neighboring countries. He has experience in planning, executing and consulting for projects in Real estate development, Affordable housing, Industrial estate, Renewable Energy, Telecommunication, Agriculture, Social Business & Impact-driven entrepreneurship in Thailand and CLMV.

Jutiwat has been the National Program Liaison Manager at the Yunus Center Asian Institute of Technology since 2014. He is in charge of establishing partnerships with the Thai government agencies and leading corporates in Thailand, and top ranking universities in order to collaborate in Social Business, Sustainability, Enterprise-led Development and related programs.

In 2013 Jutiwat completed his Master degree in Business & Entrepreneurship at Newcastle Business School, Northumbria University, UK. His Masters Dissertation research was titled “Understanding SMEs and Social Entrepreneurship: A case study of ICT industry Thailand”. Since then he has been immersed in Entrepreneurship, Social Entrepreneurship, Economics, and Sustainable development. Jutiwat completed his Bachelor Degree in Business Administration, majoring in Marketing with business concentration in Finance and Banking in 2010.

Dr. Poonchai
Chitanuntavitaya

Board Member

Dr. Poonchai Chitanuntavitaya, MD. is the Founder of the award winning Social health Enterprise (SHE). His health innovation improves the quality of life of people with Workplace stress, whilst training and hiring ex-convict women and tribal youths. SHE has service contracts with many corporates as a CSR-in-process innovation. Dr Poonchai and SHE have received many Awards for their work throughout ASEAN.

Dr Poonchai was elected to be Vice Chairman of Social Enterprise Thailand Association and sits on the National Committee of Social Enterprise. Dr Poonchai now works with the regulator of capital markets to turn CSR to impact investing, following the Social Enterprise Promotion Act of Thailand.

Dr Poonchai is also a trained cardiologist and surgeon, and was one of the founding architects of the 30 Baht Scheme, Thailand’s universal healthcare program.

Dr Yodmanee Tepanon

Board Member

Dr. Yodmanee Tepanon is Assistant Professor at Kasetsart University and Secretary of Yunus Social Business Center Kasetsart University. Yodmanee is passionate about and actively involved in social business initiatives by integrating the concept into her teaching and community services.

Her view of social business is any business that solves social problems by improving living conditions and enhancing the quality of life. Yodmanee received her Ph.D. from Virginia Tech in Hospitality and Tourism Management and MS from Arizona State University in Recreation Management and Tourism.

Through her work at YSBC Kasetsart University, she is currently focusing on both implementing social business ideas into practice and influencing decision makers at the national level to apply the concept in relevant policies.

Brian Carraway

Circular Economy Lead

Brian Carraway is the Circular Economy Lead at Yunus Thailand, and the creator of the Waste Hero: Reduce to Zero global zero waste education program. He is a social entrepreneur and Founder of Flying Squirrel Outfitters, a cottage industry manufacturer and social enterprise working with at-risk women in rural Thailand. Brian is an award winning rPET entrepreneur manufacturing recycled products for one of the largest corporations in Thailand. Brian also developed the Precious Plastics Academy, a student-led plastics up-cycling project based at PREM International School turning plastic waste into useful end products. Brian has a range of experience working as a digital marketing and ecommerce specialist at a prominent tech startup in Seattle, WA, as well as a range of community-based development projects around Thailand. Brian holds a BS in Public Affairs and Management from the O’Neil School of Public and Environmental Affairs at Indiana University.



Pavini Sethi

Youth Engagement Lead and Project Manager

Pavini Sethi specialises in community management, social and environment responsibility, sustainable development, and education.

Pavini has diverse previous experience supporting social entrepreneurship training and development in the Philippines, launching a Global Climate Action movement (Global Climate Pledge) with US Green Chamber of Commerce, developing a waste management startup model with Ecolotech, and running a grassroots activism campaign for green public transport with CALPIRG.

Pavini holds a Degree in Environmental Conservation & Resource Studies from UC Berkeley.

Asst.Prof. Dr. Tanawan Samleerat Carraway

Health Lead

Asst.Prof. Dr. Tanawan Samleerat Carraway is currently a Health Lead at Yunus Thailand and is a Visiting Expert at the Yunus Professional Masters Program at the Asian Institute of Technology.

She has over 15 years’ experience working in the field of medical technology, which includes HIV diagnosis and monitoring testing, mother-to-child transmission of HIV, molecular diagnosis of Human Papillomavirus and sexually transmitted diseases, laboratory management, and biosafety.

She is co-authoring the Thailand National Guidelines on HIV/AIDS Diagnosis, Treatment, and Prevention by the Department of Disease Control, Ministry of Public Health, Thailand from 2014 to the present. She believes that social business can complement the existing public health system and increase access to primary health care, especially in low-resource settings. She currently works actively with communities and partners to deliver primary health care to reach remote areas and also leads community-based social business development programs. 

She holds Ph.D. degrees from Sciences de la Vie et de la Santé, Université de Tours, France, and Biomedical Sciences from Chiang Mai University, Thailand.

Wiwat Maneematcha

Administration manager and project officer

Wiwat Maneematcha is Administration manager and project officer at Yunus Thailand.

Over 4+ years experience in knowledge management in government organization, Wiwat leads the infrastructure of administrative tasks for Yunus Thailand.

He also works in developing social businesses in the renewable energy industry (Solar power), vocational training curriculum to support the reintegration of ex-prisoners and promoting better understanding of BCG economy in Thailand.

He is hoping for transformation of good society through all this social business Yunus Thailand is pushing forward.

Ronakrit Khunchaimang

SME-BCG Lead and Project officer

Ronakrit Khunchaimang is  project officer of Yunus Thailand.

Ronnakrit leads BCG project in order to create awareness of BCG economy model to the Thai SMEs industry and provides continuous supportive channels to SMEs.

Ronakrit holds a bachelor of business administration degree, majoring in management.

With his enthusiastic interests in social business and mental health, he would like to expand his skills for the social impact. 

Sasina Tangphitthayawet

Marketing & Communication & Event Coordinating Manager

Sasina provides operational communication support to drive Social Business engagement work for Yunus Thailand.  Her work is  responsible for the enhanced visibility of the work through social media, events, website and other communication outreaches. She also supports content dissemination of key activities for Yunus programs. 

Sasina had experienced working with development organization as a Communication Consultant for Plastic Waste program to raise campaign awareness on coastal areas.

She holds degree in Literature (English and Thai) from Faculty of Arts Chulalongkorn University
